My favorite thing about going back to school has ALWAYS been back to school shopping. I didn’t do a whole lot of shopping this year, but I picked up a couple of things that I think will be very useful when school starts. What did you get for back to school?
I don’t know about you, but when I look at all of the CCSS online I get completely overwhelmed and I feel like I’ll never be able to teach every single one! I am trying to start extra early this year and do all my planning based on meeting the Common Core State Standards. You can find my lesson planning standards worksheet here.

So I know this doesn’t have anything to do with teaching, but I thought I would share with you the most exciting night of my life! I am the biggest Mariah Carey fan ever and I finally got to see her in concert for my birthday. Here’s a little video about my amazing night (and some secret footage!)
This year I taught an ELD (English Language Development) summer school class for the first time, and I LOVED it. I met some amazing kids from all over the world and I was almost sad when the class was over. (Almost!)
